In an effort to help reduce the chances of a breach it is required that all merchants are using the most up to date versions of their processing application(s). A search can be performed on the PCI DSS site, www.pcisecuritystandards.org/approved_companies_providers/index.php, by providing the application name and model number used at your establishment. Such information can also be found on VISA’s site www.usa.visa.com/merchants/risk_management/cisp.html.

* Beginning January 1, 2011 merchants are to validate the latest PCI DSS document labeled Version 2.0. That will include the New Self Assessment Questionaire, the Attestation of Compliance still remains Version 1.2.
